We also looked at ring styles and discussed them, but the actual ring set I bought her was a surprise. It wasn't even one we had looked at and she loves it. She knew I was going to propose and was looking forward to it but when it would happen was a surprise. I knew she would prefer a private proposal so one day I suggested an impromptu sunset watch.
