My guess is that Geralt and Yennefer will have a much larger role in terms of politics influencing the war. As you probably know, they are nearly irrelevant in that aspect in the original story. And that's very important in terms of theme.

This is what annoys me though, because its not just the narrative theyre changing but the core lore. The idea is Witchers arent supposed to involve themselves in politics.
