It's very good. Some people even say the game contains Nomura's best designed and written heroine ( though he wasn't the story lead, only the designer). My only qualm with it is that it leaves a number of plot lines open where they could do a prequel following certain events or a sequel to explore threads coming from the ending. This would not be a problem had it not been for the fact that we've waited over a decade for the sequel and Square couldn't be arsed to market the damn thing and had the gall to call the game a financial disappointment.

But the developers poured their heart into this game, it's a lot of fun and there's a lot more character interactions with subtle character development in play all the way through.
