This I'll argue against. Being effective with martial arts takes a lot ot training. They don't have time except to learn some very basic stuff. And it would be considered job training and by law one must be paid for job training. Good luck getting that approved in the budget not like they are the military with the highest budget in the country.

We correctional officers get taught some basics. Very poorly imo but one of us at my unit took his own time to learn ju jitsu. Tried going pro mma. Lost 9 out of 10 fights and the 1 was a tie. Got bodied in the first round everytime. And when I say pro I don't mean ufc. It was some only within the state circuit.

So basically he went above and beyond to learn martial arts on his own time and it's still not enough.

I'd be more for rubber bullets being standard issue alongside a real gun.
