Ive seen a few larger creators talk about unnatural spikes in unsubscribers like that, able to show on a graph these weird dips in timing with their uploads. There are obviously factors like people realizing that they dont care about the creators content when they see the new upload, but the phenomenon is too frequently noted to just be that.
