Should've just called this Mandalorian Season 2.5 or something and made it clear with marketing that it'd be essential lore. i think the entire point is to make everything feel essential. ultimately, they are trying to sell subs. but that's only a problem if the story isn't good. and, at least for right now, i have been very entertained. they're exploring a rather soft spot right now in the existing lore, where we have only tiny bits of a near 25 year stretch. by the time it's all over, this might involve dozens of shows, hundreds of episodes. which episode belonging to which show really might not end up being all that important. --- Boom!
