The Mandalorian season 3 episode 2 basically. First part of the episode is like a fan fiction but I don't know any fan who wants to see Luke Skywalker that isn't Mark Hamill. The current Star Wars writers are terrible if they think we want to see old characters instead of new ones.

I should maybe watch those animated shows to understand why people get excited lol.

So at this point, I'm assuming spice is some kind of drug, right? Because until Cobb tipped the chest over, I genuinely those these were just really aggressive seasoning salesmen.

Oh, and as someone who doesn't know shit about Star Wars, I find it really fucking bizarre that Ahsoka and Luke are both continuing the "no earthly attachments" teachings. I always figured the idea presented in the prequels was that the Jedi were fucked up for doing that and it ultimately led to their downfall because they forbid Anakin from having personal attachments, meaning his mom gets murdered by Tuskens, Padme dies from big sad, and his kids are stillborn. That all ultimately ends up with him joining Palpatine and doing the Order 66 thing. Then the OT even has Luke and Vader win the day because their attachment to each other ultimately ends up defeating the Emperor. But now they're just...doing that again? That's dumb as fuck.

I think I was thrown by Critical Role. At one point, an NPC asks them for a spice from his home country. They have trouble finding it and get it into their head that the spice is a type of drug, leading the bard to ask random people, "Do you spice?"

At a certain point, they've tried smoking, eating, drinking, and inserting it anally before someone asks an innkeeper and learn it genuinely is just spice.

The dude was doing fine in the lessons, how does making him choose make him do better? I see no reason why he and Din couldn't have a visit.

I was thinking something similar. Luke is supposed to be starting this new generation of Jedi, and he's just going to repeat the stupid mistakes of the past. This was by far my favorite episode so far, but it ended on a really bad note.

Interesting direction they're going with this. Seems like they got big plans for the post-RotJ era. It's probably better to just consider these shows as one big Star Wars show, with Din kind of being the Tony Stark.

I need to watch this one again because it was just too much lol.

Maninstagnate posted...

I mean, yeah, he's CGI, but it's still Mark Hamill voicing him.

I now fully believe Luke will meet Anakin's Force ghost in one of the future shows like Ahsoka. Both Mark Hamill and Hayden Christensen seem like they're down for more Star Wars.

Luke is changing things up. Basically, he wants that person isolated during training, and then once that's done, they can go back to their lives. I'm assuming this was also the plan for Ben Solo, otherwise, he would have to fully cut off Han and Leia.

The issue here seems to be specifically because of Grogu. He ages slowly and it's gonna take him much longer to reach completion. That could be a very long time for Din as Luke said.

Now that I think about it, there was a canon comic in which Palpatine put on a grand display of throwing all the Jedi lightsabers claimed after Order 66 into an incinerator, INCLUDING Yoda's. So it really should be impossible for Luke to have it.

The lightsaber stuff was addressed before. In the Disney canon, there's a lightsaber in Yoda's hut on Dagobah. In the Darth Vader comic, it's shown that Mas Amedda destroyed all the lightsabers, specifically throwing in Yoda's last.

So the writer was asked about that and he said that lightsaber was either a fake that Palapatine used to make a point, or the lightsaber on Dagobah was just another Yoda made.

Someone from the story group confirmed that Yoda had many lightsabers.

I think ideally the Jedi have to find some healthy balance between having attachments but not letting those attachments drive you toward the dark side. Ahsoka seems to be one of the few who have been able to strike that balance. Probably Obi-Wan as well. Grogu is kind of an unknown factor and he's had a pretty unorthodox childhood up until now. Ahsoka probably just doesn't want to take any risks after both the Jedi Order and Anakin let her down. As for Luke, I'll chock it up to him still being very new to the job. I mean we obviously know because of the sequels that Luke does ultimately fail.

Anyway, cool to see Cad Bane. I saw someone say he reminded them of the Mouth of Sauron and I definitely got that vibe as well.

It's a show about how he builds his empire. It's the "book" that describes his deeds and influence. Naturally, that will include the people he surrounds himself with. The conflict is centered around Boba. He's the one the syndicate takes issue with. He's the one Cad Bane is working against. He's the one Din Djarin is going to help without pay.

Meanwhile, The Mandalorian and Book of Boba Fett are different in name only. They're all about the same characters as one another. Think of it as one series which shifts focus from time to time on who the "main" character is. Far more cohesive, far better written.

Think of it. In like five years when people are going back and binging (and unaware), they'll be like going through all the seasons of Mando not knowing that after two that they HAVE TO break away to go to BoBF or else they miss some key Mando and Grogu moments. Like the marketing was just poorly planned.

Although credit to the show for finally getting an antagonist, with one episode to go.
