Lucca did have a higher magic stat than Magus, but most of her spells are fire-based, her ultimate weapon does random damage, and she is SLOW. Maybe it's my fault for not giving her magic tabs, but whatever.
In my experience the Wondershot averaged a comparable amount of damage to what the other attackers were causing, making it very useful.
