If there's ambiguity like that I don't think they should call a penalty.
I agree with this, but it would also mean that it would almost never get called because there's usually some ambiguity. Half the time, based on the puck being black and the stands being mostly dark (depending on what the fans are wearing) you can't even tell WITH replay...
