Carlson couldn't get to Richards in time, and Beagle tried to dive and stop the pass. They were both just a bit too tired.

Heh, I was watching a Russian stream and the announcer would get so excited whenever Green would float in a wrister from the blue line screaming GREEEEEEEEEEEEEN as if every shot was some amazing scoring chance for him.

Oh hey I got the 500th post in the last topic.

You can't blame any of the Caps. They put up a hell of a fight, and both goalies were damn good. But Holtby is young and it just makes sense that he'd be the first to slip.

Anytime Green actually gets a shot on net that's worth celebrating, because 90% of the time he misses completely.

Also, Holtby didn't slip. That was entirely NOT his fault.

That kind of game makes you feel sick with nerves when your own team is involved, even if they win.

OT is so great but also so horrible when your own team is in it.

Holtby literally has nothing to be ashamed about though, he had very little chance whatsoever to save that.

Its like the Capitals' two huge chances in the first OT, there was absolutely nothing Lundqvist could do, but they just missed.

This is the kind of game where fans of the teams need recovery time as well. Gaborik scoring the goal is great considering how weak he's been in the playoffs. That's the kind of game of faith-boosting game he and the Rangers needed.

Wouldn't be surprised if Holtby beasts game 4 too.

Holtby is a rookie, yeah. He's a rookie who outdueled Tim Thomas and just brought a completely even game to late in 3 OT against Henrik Lundqvist which came down to a shot he just had basically no chance at saving, when there had already been at the very least 2 such shots on Lundqvist before then.

Good for the kid. I don't know who the hell this guy is, but he needs to stop imitating Roy.

Kovalchuk skating on the fourth line in practice this morning. Will be a game-time decision. Says he feels good. Will only play if he can play at full effectiveness.

My take....I was thrilled he was sat out in Game 2 because he looked terrible, and IMO we won the game because of that decision. Sounds like if he's going to play now, then he'll be in there as his usual self (hopefully excluding his typical playoff suckiness), not as the worthless pile of crap he's been through most of the playoffs, so I guess I'll be happy either way. If he's out, then fine, we can win without him, but if he can play, he can help (and not hurt) us win.

Kovalchuk warming up on the third line, so if he is gonna play, it appears his ice time will be limited (although I'm sure he'll still contribute significantly to the power play).

Adam Larsson gets rewarded for the goal in Game 2, as he should be, by being left in the lineup, but I agree with what was just said on the pre-game, I'd like to see Harrold stay in the lineup, and instead sit Volchenkov or Fayne.

Kovalchuk officially in. Looks like he's gonna play on the second line with Zajac and Ponikarovsky, not the third line. Elias-Parise-Clarkson staying together makes me happy. Sykora-Henrique-Zubrus on the third line, which I have a good feeling about....I'll be interested to see how that turns out. 4th line back together is a good thing, too, they were great in the first series, but individually they're not that good (obviously) so it sucks when one of them has to move up and get more minutes.

Almost game time, LETS GO DEVILS!

I mean, it's a bad call but I don't think it's THAT bad. It's virtually impossible to tell on the ice whether those things deflect off sticks or not, and since they aren't allowed to use replay....

It's the wrong call, but I don't think it's like, HORRIBLY wrong or something.
