I'd say Nebraska, but I think Nebraska gets enough crap for being inconsequential that it somehow loops around to relevance.
The Cornhuskers are one of the most well known college sports teams in the country. West Virginia has the... Mountaineers, which could be anything from a college team to their national guard - I'd never heard of em until this topic.
