If I was in the boss' position, while I'd check the complaint, the snitch would certainly get some kind of punishment (explicit or not), as well. I quite dislike people like that.
Also, what SBell described is an extreme case where your line of thinking might apply, but you have no clue what a "bad employee" is. Someone who gets his work done in an hour and is on Facebook the rest of the time is way better than someone who "works", but gets nothing done all day.
And this is why you'll never be in a managerial position.
Maybe I won't. That doesn't change the fact that my line of thinking is way ahead of yours. Results matter much more than "hard work". At the end, a business is about the money.
