That's the problem though, he'd only appeal to people who played PvZ. Everyone else would be like "who's this? Laaaame." We've already seen during the last contest that not a lot of people here have played PvZ (which we could have guessed anyway).
The Sunflower, though, is instantly recognizable to anyone who's stepped outside their house (which contrary to popular believe, is a good portion of the site!). No one would go "who's this?" They'd instead say "Oh a sunflower! And it's smiling! I know sunflowers."
I don't know... if I was a neutral voter who had never played PVZ, I'd take the guy with the saucepan on his head over the generic-looking sunflower any day. That's just me, though!
PvZ players would instantly recognize the that he had to be from PvZ though, and really, Thriller-era Michael Jackson is popular enough that no one really needs to know what game he's from to vote for him.
If Crazy Dave doesn't make the contest (God forbid!), I'll probably try to rally for Thriller Zombie next year. Just imagine how awesome he'd look in a match pic!
