seems like everyone is down on the Flyers, but Bryz got a team with a lot less talent to the playoffs last year. they'll do well.
They let over half their goals from last season go to make cap room for him. I understand Carter/Richards were considered negative influences, and Leino got overpaid by Buffalo, but it's still a lot of goal differential for Bryz and what is mostly a batch of unspectacular replacement signings to make up. Giroux and JVR look like they'll keep improving, sure, but I doubt they'll be that much better. And Pronger is only getting older and coming off another surgery.
I'd love to be proven wrong, but on paper I can't see how this is a better team than last year's, even with Bryzgalov. Really hope I'm wrong, though.
