Ok, I'm a bit behind, but I've now posted every commentary that I plan to release on the link in my sig, so check that out if you wish.

Game: Final Fantasy II(US)

System: SNES

Time spent on the game: 6 hours.

Cheats used: A LOT(see this games post in the forum for all of them.)

I was gonna spoil the entire game, but you know what? This isn't FFLegend1. The game is great the whole time, and not just in the last 4/5. Seriously, if you haven't played this, and you want to play a pure classic medievil rpg, which happens to be the first Final Fantasy title that started the uber awesome battle system similar to FFV-IX, check this game out. I'm gonna purposefully not give any plot details out that are after the game's Star Wars style intro early in the game.

Let me start off by saying that I cheated in this game worse than any other I did in the original Final Fantasy Legend, so take that for however you will, but know that I make no apologies. If you want all the details, check out the commentary of this game in the link in my sig.

Anyways, this game is probably my most nostalgic game of all time. I rented this game in 93 or so, and it introduced me to...well, the thing that made RPGs my favorite genre. The fact that there's so much to read. I spent an hour going through the intro, reading everything out loud. Then when Kain and Cecil leave Baron Castle in the morning, and the Star Wars style intro explaining what's going on in the game...dear god.

You know what? I'm saying it right now. The music that plays during the Star Wars style intro, it is literally my most memorable theme of anything ever, not just in video games, but everything I've ever heard. Second only to...well, one of the themes in The Fellowship of the Ring, which to me is merely the first 3 and half hours of what is the longest movie ever made, and at the same time best movie ever made. (Oh, and I REFUSE to watch the non- extended edition.)

Ok, so I went through several "versions" of this game, mainly trying to get the game genie codes that I used to work. Spent probably an hour and half doing so, before finally going with the original US version, titled Final Fantasy II.

I put in the codes, and I started the game. The intro is so awesome, with a group airships going around the world being the first thing that you see, it after a few seconds showing you your main character, Cecil the Dark Knight, and his crew of the Red Wings. They are complaining over what they had just done. They have gone to the town of mysidia(SP?), and taken their crystal, which none of your crew has any idea why your King wants it. After a couple automated battles, showing off a couple of the SNES's at the time very great looking spell effects, you talk with your crew for a bit more, and arrive at Baron Castle.
