The Urn is one of the main quests, so no. And yes, you could've gotten werewolves; three of the main quests can result in different armies depending on how you resolve them.

Also yes there are several outcomes with Elves and Werewolves. Though to side with the Werewolves you need a pretty big Coercion stat and pick the evil option. Because siding with Werewolves needs something pretty evil.
Oh, I saw it and could have passed it probably. The only Persuade option I've failed so far in the game was telling the tree I was a werewolf, and I have a feeling that he could see through that no matter what. <_< Rogue with rank 3 persuade skill and lotsa cunning ftw
