Also this. Lucas has outright stated this. They're pretty much equal, the only reason Palps took the fight in the Senate Chamber is because he managed to take the high ground. LOL. Plus there was some mumbo jumbo about the Dark Side growing stronger in the wake of Palps' treachery.
