The heroes have almost reached Pacifidlog Island, but the boat breaks down near Donto Island and they're forced to stop while Carlos, the ferryman, fixes it. Unfortunately, fixing the boat will take so long that May will miss her next contest (I actually paid attention to the timing Carlos describes, and she would not miss her contest if they just waited, but whatever), so Carlos tells the heroes to cross the island and reach the port on the other side. Yes, the adult tells the children to cross a potentially dangerous forest on foot by themselves.
They come across a group of Donphan rolling around in a circle, and they realize the Donphan are doing their mating dance because it's their breeding season, and give me a new reaction image.
By the way, I love how everyone in this image is looking in a different direction.
One female in particular is extremely popular, a brown Donphan (which is not their shiny color, so I don't know). The heroes bond with a particular random male Donphan and start rooting for it to win her affections, and after so much padding, it succeeds, and the two fall in love. Team Rocket attacks the two Donphan with a net, but even though catching wild pokemon is completely legal, the heroes attack them.
Sadly, dealing with the Donphan makes thems miss the last boat to Pacifidlog Town, but Carlos gets his boat fixed earlier than expected and is able to take them, rendering the entire episode completely pointless.
