Rhapsody in Drew
"You call that an 'ice beam?' It's more like a 'nice beam!'"
Score: 6/10

This round is a double battle of Banette and Cacturne versus Beautifly and Bulbasaur. May defeats him with, I'll be honest, surprising ease. He knocks some of her points off, but he's never really in the match at all.

Outside, Jessie attempts to steal Robert's identity (the Milotic guy), so Ash sends Snorunt to stop her. When it gets hit by a dual psybeam/pin missile, the stress causes it to evolve into a Glailie. Maaaaaan, if you wanted a DPP pokemon, use Froslass, it's way cooler than Glalie. Glalie is like the least cool ice pokemon in the entire franchise, except for maybe Regice.

Cut to Anthony versus May, already in progress. Anthony is about to win by having his Pinsir snap Combusken's beak shut, but the time runs out and May wins. She then learns that her opponent for the third round is Drew.

Drew sends out Roselia and Flygon, "a secret weapon he's hidden all this time!", and Ash scans it because he's never seen one before even though ah screw it, you know the drill. May has Skitty and Combusken on her side.

You would think this battle would be in May's favor, given that Combusken can roflstomp Roselia and Skitty knows blizzard, a move that Flygon is x4 weak to, but nope. After four minutes and thirty seconds of battling during which Drew has the clear advantage, May is left with less points than him, so she decides to go for a quick knockout, but Drew counters with stun spore and steel wing and wins. The audience loves May more than Drew, and even though she lost, she's still the clear favorite, everyone (except Harley) chanting her name.

Cut to Drew versus Robert, and wow, Robert demolishes Drew. Well that's what you get for using Masquerain, Drew. He doesn't even knock off half of Robert's points. May tells Drew that she's sorry he didn't win, and Drew declares that there's always someone better.

Unless, uh, you're Robert. Then there's not always someone better. Drew tells May that you always need to practice and get better, or someone will pass you by, and walks away in slow-mo into the distance.
