Tyson sends out his final pokemon: Meowth, and TR Meowth celebrates, cheering for it. Meowth counters Pikachu's thunderbolts with its own thunderbolts to defend, even though you would have to assume Pikachu's thunderbolts are stronger and would overpower Meowth's.
Oh come now, Anna. The writers were oddly consistent with the typing (dis)advantages this episode, clearly expecting them to know about STAB is expecting too much. :P
