The Host clearly decides that Tenma, the aspect of darkness, is a better fight for Neuro. Then when Tenma probably loses, he doffs his hat, and gives Neuro a one way ticket to oblivion as a reward.
Man, this is actually something the Host probably does in this matchup. That or he sends a demonhunting nun at Neuro or something because he loves "drama! tension! clichéd plotlines!".
