In general, though, it does seem like the NES's reputation has really taken a nose-dive in the past two/three years. Not entirely sure what's up with that.
It's old, so most gamers didn't grow up with an NES and so their first experience with these games are Virtual Console and ports.


I just think it's weird that, if that's the case, it didn't happen sooner. I mean, not many 90s kids grew up on the NES, and yet the system's reputation was undeniably stronger last gen!

Maybe the increased availability of NES titles has had something to do with it: more people are trying them, and thus, more people are walking away disappointed. But there wasn't a dearth of NES ports on the GBA, either...
