It's embarrassing and/or bad etiquette for waiters and waitresses to pick up their tip before the customers at the table leave.
I don't, but I guess he was worried someone else was going to take it. I told him he was being paranoid, but eh. At any rate, he left in a hurry when I called him and told him his car was being towed and to get his ass out here.
