Are we talking about being homosexual, or engaging in homosexual activities? If God said that being homosexual was wrong, then there's not much that can be done. You can't consciously stop being gay, so this wouldn't matter. If he said that homosexual activities were wrong, then people could stop doing that if they wanted.
I think that is a important distinction to make before I can discuss this any further.
