75. Alan Wake – The Poet and the Muse
User: Kamekguy
Link:

First Impressions: These lyrics. They sure are something.

Thoughts: I almost want to say this sounds like it should be a fairy tale or myth, except it just does not appeal to me that much. Really, it is sort of a confusing track. I like the vocalist to some extent, but feel he could have been better. The strings might have been good, but fall short. The lyrics might have been interesting, but they turn out not to be. And then we have that random speed up near the end that is sort of, uh, bizarre. Yeah.

Rating: 5/10

74. Katawa Shoujo – Parity
User: Phase

First Impressions: Nowhere near the best piano track that could have been picked.

Thoughts: I have heard a few Katawa Shoujo tracks, courtesy of Kenri (who is still trying to get me to play it, and I will… eventually), and they were all better than this. I like most piano pieces. This one is a bit too, um, light-hearted? Like, it gives me a feeling that I generally would not look for a piano track to give me. Those clopping noises are not a credit either, but they have the decency to remain short.

73. Super Mario 3D Land - Ghost House
User: Master Epyon
Link:

First Impressions: This didn’t stand a ghost of a chance.

Thoughts: I feel bad for saying this in regards to like three of Master Epyon’s picks, but this is another average track. I have no problems with it other than it being sort of dull. The strings are kind of okay. It also has the courtesy to remain short. I still lack much interest though. Then again, I am not as familiar with Mario soundtracks. Maybe if I knew more about them or had grown up with them, I would care more. …Honestly, probably not. Anyhow, sorry Master Epyon. You’re a fantastic guy, but none of your pieces resonated particularly with me, so you’re the first to have everything posted.

72. Rusty – Queen in the Dark Night
User: FL81
Link:

First Impressions: Whatever.

Thoughts: This would have gotten a far better reaction from me than “whatever” if the entire thing was like the introduction. But it changes tactics and falls on its face as a result. The bells try to help out, to their credit, but are not strong enough to do so. I wanted to like this more, it just was trying really hard at the end to make me not like it!

Rating: 5/10

71. Blazing Angels – Main Theme
User: Ace_Killjoy
Link:

First Impressions: Standard triumphant music and little else.

Thoughts: From the pictures and genre of the game, this probably fits it pretty well. Too bad I am not that fond of music like this. It blends in my mind with music from like ten thousand other forms of media, doing nothing to stand out, and as a result hits the average mark with a brutal thud. At least it does not drag on too long, if it went any more than two minutes I would have gotten thoroughly bored.

You laugh at my Celtic Guardian, until I use my Scapegoat, and then United We Stand, Mage Power, and 3 Axe Of Despairs, with Gaia Power out.
