You said it yourself - it's less absurd. To me, that means it's more valid. I don't tend to look at things in a possible vs. impossible dichotomy. I like the probability scale more. How likely is it to exist? While 1 and 2 are highly unlikely in my view, 3 isn't too ridiculous. To ascribe the name "God" to the unknowable, extra-universal force that jump-started the universe doesn't seem that nonsensical to me. My thought process is that since I don't know, I'm not going to jump to conclusions so I choose to not actively believe in such a being - but I could certainly be convinced otherwise. Regarding 1 and 2, it'd be highly unlikely for me to agree that such beings exist.
