How much do people in socialist countries pay for their medicine compared to people in America? As for technology, what's the internet like for people in socialist countries compared to how it is in America? Are they paying more for lower speeds than us?

Are we just gonna ignore the tax rates they pay?

Are you just going to ignore the premiums and deductibles that we pay..

ultimately the question becomes 'are you in the upper middle class'

america kicks ass if you are. my premiums are tax free and mostly paid by my employer, my deductible is 0, healthcare costs me jack shit and i spend plenty of other people's money each year on it

meanwhile, i pay a very low tax rate by OECD terms

it's not such a rosy situation for the single mother with a low income job

when these are contrasted the most fiscal conservatives can say here is 'you made the right choices and she made the wrong ones' which tends to gloss over a lot and is very reductionist. but once that's said a person tends to put their head in the sand and chant something about justice.
