Imagine a game had DLC, but you could only buy the DLC for one month, and after that they deleted it from the store. Everyone who bought it gets to keep it, but no one can ever buy it ever again. Oh, I was thinking more literally along the lines of there being a limited number of downloads for the items. >_> that also happens. In Smite, they released a Skin called "Poolseidon" which was Poseidon in campy swimming pool gear. This was only ever distributed as a code physically printed on cards. First come first serve. Once all those cards got used up, they're gone forever.
