I think more leftists are upset, though, because Colbert actually had to say publicly that he regrets using that male genital term and he had to reassure his leftist fans he is all for gay rights and anyone can love anyone; he didn't do that for the conservatives, folks. He did that because the crying alt right started up their whole "Fire Colbert!" thing and the network forced has hand. This includes links on places like T_D with numbers to CBS offices and encouraging people to call and complain.
