Semi-successfully. I downloaded some app that pretty much does all of it for you, but I only did it to get rid of bloatware. I didn't totally brick it, but I stopped being able to download some apps that it now said weren't compatible, so ehh

I have a Nexus so I don't even have the bloatware it would just be nice to customize more. You can also root, modify, and unroot I think. I don't really know.

Yeah, I used to do it all the time. Some of the modern phones make it a lot more difficult (if not impossible) to do now though. They used to make it really easy for you too. "One touch roots" were all the rage.

I don't root anymore though because I don't really need to. All the cool features from ROMs get put into main releases now. It also voids your warranty and whatnot.

My phone is out of warranty at this point so less of a concern but I wouldn't want to brick it. The battery is just showing its wear and age and I'd love to use naptime to better manage it. Doze I can get unrooted but I'm finding it completely misses going into deep sleep sometimes and I wake up with a phone with 0 power
