What allows them to live so long? Cells just take longer to stop? Lucky

Some people think it is because they have a slower metabolism, and when the body is a metabolizing that is when signs of aging can show. Since they do it so slowly they can live longer.

I watched a video not long ago that talked about it. They claimed that once they hit sexual maturity they stop aging. If they lived in a bubble where it wasn't exposed to disease, predators, etc they claimed that they could effectively live forever.
