The most powerful nuke that has been tested was the 50 megaton Tsar Bomba, which destroyed everything in a 40 mile radius, and did major damage for 60 miles. The heat could give you third decree burns at 62 miles away from ground zero.
The total destruction zone from the 18 kiloton Hiroshima bomb was 1 mile.
This last test was supposed to be 100 kiloton.

So what you are saying is that North Korea is going to blow itself up?

If they had a 100 megaton nuke?
Perhaps.
Their last missile managed to fly over Japan before it fell apart, so they might be able to fly it outside the country before it blows up.
