So make no mistake: I agree the way the law treats people of various groups is unfair. I don't agree that emulating unfairly harsh treatment and giving her that is the right way to go. Lift up those below, instead of drag those above down into the pit as well.

Well it's convient that those who can change the system just happen to be unaffected by it because they have money or connections.

Unless you have a better idea I'm all for holding the higher up to the same standards as the lowest until they campaign to change the system. Throw her in for 15 years and maybe her parents will do something to try and change the system.

Instead condoning this is pretty much saying, "eh, I'm sure it will all work out eventually".
