Yes, the similarities are mostly superficial, and they both have their own completely different feel.

makes me wonder if I couldn't get into it because I was viewing it the wrong way now. I was focusing more on building shit than going out exploring and fighting things.


If you want to build, it becomes much easier to build elaborate structures later. You get better tools, a much larger choice of building materials, and even moving your character around becomes a whole lot easier. But yes, the focus is generally on exploration and fighting.


aside from that I think what pissed me off was I was trying to assign this dude to my house, first it tells me I didn't have the required stuff to have someone live in the place I built. so I went out and got/built all that. and it still kept telling me I didn't have all the required stuff, and no matter what I did, I couldn't seem to get around it.
