From what I read he fights Jiren but survives and then teams up with Goku and from the timeline he survives 2 minutes which is ridiculously good. There's nothing saying he was eliminated and unless you expected him to eliminate Jiren like right away then him fighting him and surviving is pretty much the best amhe could hope for.
