Board 8 > Dragonball Super Spoilers for the upcoming few episodes [MWC]

I have just got done canceling my Crunchyroll subscription. I will no longer watch or support this franchise in any way shape or form. I am finished. The inability of the writers of the show to deviate from what they've been doing for the past twenty years is frankly unacceptable. They have teased potential creative growth through Super, but it is now apparent that they are just falling back into the same old same old pattern, and frankly I'm through with it.

Nothing has changed except the hair colors. Fuck everyone involved with the creative process there, top to bottom.

Yes I am mad because they are disrespecting Vegeta in the same manner they did on Namek, against Cell, and against Buu. They have repeatedly shit on the only character that actually shows change or personal growth through all of the serieses in favor of giving cool moments to Android 17 and more of them to Goku. I sat through some of the bullshit in this tournament hoping for something, anything from a guy who was supposed to have gone through some major strength changes in preparation for saving his family.

But no, he's just going to job to the main bad one more time because we don't have any creative ways of resolving arcs that deviate from Goku Saving The Day

I'm done.

I had it for other things, like One Piece and HxH but I don't use it frequently enough outside of watching Super on Saturday nights.

The problem I have is that through Super they have been purposely stringing along Vegeta's fanbase, whom are a large part of their viewership, by teasing that they'd give Vegeta some moments of being stronger and/or contributing to the defeat of The Big Bad in a meaningful way.

And they just slapped us all in the face yet again.

Should've known it would go back to Goku saving the day all the time once they brought him back in the Buu Saga. At least Vegeta didn't get shit on as hard as Gohan and Piccolo. All 3 of them deserve way more respect and moments than they get.

Oh and watch them let Frieza eliminate Dyspo, too.

If the spoilers didn't say eliminated, I think you are jumping the gun. If Vegeta wasn't eliminated it means he'll be back for a rematch after a minute or two of resting. But even if they don't say he was eliminated, you are hoping for a lot for this arc to end with something other than Goku defeating Jiren.

I don't get why you're upset. From what I read he fights Jiren but survives and then teams up with Goku and from the timeline he survives 2 minutes which is ridiculously good.

There's nothing saying he was eliminated and unless you expected him to eliminate Jiren like right away then him fighting him and surviving is pretty much the best amhe could hope for.

It could be worse, could be a Frieza fan. Spoilers suggest he can't even beat Dyspo solo as he needs Gohan's assistance

they should have had Goku eliminated from the tournament on some technicality so everyone else had to win without him. That way Goku still gets to be the strongest, but someone else gets to be the actual hero.

Just because you like vegeta better doesn't mean he's entitled to be better than goku. Everything that happened in all 3 of the sagas you mentioned are perfectly in line with what his character role is supposed to be. He's not the protagonist. He's an anti-villian at best during those sagas, and he's a deuteragonist now. He will never be as strong as goku is, and that's how it should be based on their character roles. They didn't s*** on him in any of those sagas, he got himself blown up each and every time.
Convince yourself you're a super saiyan? Get blown out by frieza, you earned it.
Let Cell reach his perfect form? Get blown out by perfect cell, you earned it.
Prioritize killing goku over the safety of the world? Get blown out by majin buu, you earned it.

You can't sit here and scream LOVE VEGETA MORE, VEGETA'S SO COOL, WHY IS VEGETA GETTING SO SCREWED and just ignore the part of his character that earned him that "disrespect" in the first place and claim that he "deserves" more. Hell, Vegeta wasn't even going to ENTER the tournament of power because Bulma was pregnant. Normally that'd be fine, except the entire universe, including bulma, were going to be erased if they lost. And yet Vegeta deserves to be the spotlight? He's shown more character growth than Goku, sure, there's no debating that, but that does not in itself mean that Vegeta somehow "deserves" more than Goku. Not only that, but there's still plenty of times where he still acts like dumb Vegeta from the Cell saga anyway.
