Same, anime was generally well-received at my middle and high school. I spent half the time hanging out with the gamers and anime fans (thanks to my love of games and anime) and half the time hanging out with some of the football players (thanks to my love/knowledge of sports and my cousin helping to introduce me), and I managed to make the two sides surprisingly friendly with each other.
