That's not losing 4 years, that's aging 4 years. Losing 4 years would mean it'd happen at the end of your life. So if you were going to live until 90, you'd only live until 86 instead.

It's still losing four years. You still die four years sooner. It's four years that you miss out on. Four years that you have lost. Even if you were going to die at 96. Now you've jumped from 30 to 34. That 96 comes four years sooner than it would have.
