When I say that you lose 4 years I mean that if, say, you are 28, you instantly become 32. You lose any sort of life experiences that you could have had in those years for this tradeoff.

No, because if youre not in decent shape already, 4 years is more than enough time to get in great shape with a good physique.

I can't see a positive point to doing this. Four years is enough time to get the physique naturally if you're willing to put in the effort*. And if you aren't going to put in the effort you'll just regress to your previous state anyway.

*unless have something that makes you physically incapable of getting to that state (such as ALS), but once again your just going to end up regressing to your previous state.

The only arguable justification I can think of would be if your suicidal but unwilling to actually commit suicide for w/e beliefs, to use it as a shortcut to shortening your life. But even there there are more effective methods for destroying your body.

Also, if you found out that your remaining lifespan was only 3 or less years what happens? Do you become a muscular corpse?

But I worked hard to get in the shape I am in. Like hell I'd take that deal. Things like that need to be earned.

Nope. While a nice physique sounds great I don't want to speed up the process to death. Even more so when in those four years or even less I could tone up a bit and get the athletic physique I want.

If I would willingly shorten my lifespan to look good with a nice physique?

Of course not. One can achieve this physique within the 4 years that they'd potentially forfeit; perhaps even sooner than 2 years if one is dedicated enough.

And at 35 I still look great.

Fair points but do you believe folks who are currently unhealthy or with bad physique are gonna have the discipline and life habits to maintain a healthy life and good physique?

Genetics is a factor for some folks but for some, they just lack the willpower to improve themselves. Suddenly getting a good physique might improve the self-confidence of some to maintain it but some might also far back into the bad habits that got them where they are now in the first place.

Why? So I can be forced to go to the gym to avoid regressing back to my overweight self? No thanks. EnvyFox doesn't do physical fitness, man, and I'd just end up constantly shaving years off of my life via magic to keep myself looking like a bronze god.

Ladies and gentlemen, trading life for a good build is a serious addiction that is ruining this great nation. I, together with my partners at Death Upon Magic Bodybuilding, are joining forces to spread awareness about the dangers of losing precious years of your life in order to get instantly fit. Having a body that won't get you thrown back into the ocean with the rest of the whales is not worth aging rapidly for. Dying hurts like the dickens (or so I've heard) and taking a shortcut to that painful process os just ignorant. If you're thinking about taking this deal or have already done so in the past, stop it. Get some help. You're better than that and shouldn't be ashamed for being the shape you are. You should instead ridicule those who take the time to get fit in the first place. I mean, c'mon... wasting their days away at some gym lifting heavy objects and twisting their bodies into weird shapes while we get to enjoy burgers and sit on our butts all day relaxing? And WE'RE the shameful ones? I don't think so! They can't even grow a second chin! What good are their opinions anyhow? Anyway, Melissa McCarthy for president, y'all. I'm outtie!

There are several things in the world that I would exchange more than half of my lifespan for. Heck, even living one more day would be enough. But good physique? Nah, that's a joke. Don't like big muscles. I could use a bit more of strength, but something that I could achieve in 6 months would be more than enough.

Tho... I would take it as means to jump 4 years in the future for reasons.

Nah. Not in this scenario where I jump ahead four years. Had it been four years off the end of my my life I'd have gone for it though. I'm not so grossly out of shape that I'm embarrassed to be seen naked so it definitely wouldn't be worth losing the next four years of my life.

I would take years off the end of my life for almost anything nice. End of life will not be pleasant for me. Losing the next few years of my life, not so much.

If the good physique was permanent without effort and also cured my MS, I'd really consider it. I'm going to be miserable for a lot more than four years. :P

Unfortunately the topic title and poll title are different. Topic title states "lose four years" whereas the poll states" instantly age four years". I assume the TC meant the latter.

It's still losing four years. You still die four years sooner. It's four years that you miss out on. Four years that you have lost. Even if you were going to die at 96. Now you've jumped from 30 to 34. That 96 comes four years sooner than it would have.
