Write-Up: Back to the 80's again with one of most "80's sounding" tunes there ever was if you know what I mean. God what was up with the fashion statement in the video anyway? It's hard to believe I never noticed as a kid how corny everything was tbh. Anyway, this song ended up being the first of many Top 10 hits for Madonna and she was often praised for her "Dance Pop" style. Time magazine (must have regretably by now) added this to their list of "All Time 100 greatest songs". If that list hasn't been revised yet I'm sure this will drop off of it eventually if they are actually serious about their music lists. Many other bands have covered this song and I can tell you I have not heard a single one... although I may boot up the Counting Crows version at some point just out of curiosity. I have heard this song so much though that I can't really imagine it working any other way so we'll see. ====================================
