| Topic | Save Viso's Favorite Final Fantasy Characters: Day 14 [svfffc] *RULE CHANGE* |
| Inviso 08/16/18 1:09:24 AM #50: | 10. Auron Man, you guys just keep picking off the upper tier of my list, don't you? Auron is a simple case for why I like him: in a game as overly happy and peppy and inane as Final Fantasy X, Auron stands out as a unique character. But his somber attitude isn't either complete nothingness like Kimahri, or low-key bitchcraft like Lulu. No, Auron shows up to serve as the one "older" member of the traditional group of youngsters found in most Final Fantasy games. And at first, it seems like he's a stereotypical badass (which, don't get me wrong, is enough to make this list, but not the top ten), but then we get backstory on his journeys with Braska and Jecht, and we learn about Auron's younger self, as a dedicated and loyal friend. The man died, yet refused to pass on, because his work was unfinished. And thus, he worked with Tidus/Yuna, the SUPER FUCKING INFERIOR descendants of his friends, to help them complete the mission he never could. It's a great use of the mentor character, and like I said, he stands out in a great way in an otherwise dumb game. --- Touch fuzzy. Get fuzzier. Inviso ... Copied to Clipboard! |
