I've actually started doing both leveling strategies for 5-4E, with one team doing the lower route on the first turn (since there are Normal Machine enemies down there to complete that challenge when it comes up during the bingo card event) and then a second team taking out the boss next turn. Not a bad idea, but I'm too much in on clearing in one turn. It's why I don't do 0-2 very often.
