I remember playing a Fatal Fury on the Genesis, KoF 99 on the Dreamcast briefly (not much single player content), two Samurai Shodown games, the crossovers with Capcom, and most games released for the Neo Geo Pocket Color. Yes, I actually owned an NGPC and quite a few games for it. That machine was AMAZING. The thumb stick was perfectly designed for fighting games and even 360 motions were a snap to pull off. There were hardly any games, but what they did have had a lot of heart put into them. Their SNK VS Capcom game was simply beautiful: A lot of characters, several minigames, multiple modes of fighting (1-on-1, Tag Battles, and KoF-style team battles)... they pushed that little system as far as they possibly could and I still love it. The King of Fighters R2 was pretty interesting too. A single-player mode with a plot, cutscenes, and you could equip items & skills on your character? You just don't see that type of thing in many fighting games. Unfortunately, I can't find the intro cutscene to the single player mode, as I remember it being hilariously Engrish-y. Either way, I don't have much nostalgia for the King of Fighters series itself. Having only played one title in the main series, and only briefly, I'm not too familiar with it. And while this song is nice enough, it's not really amazing or doing much to elevate itself beyond the category of "random fighting background music".
