And one song, in which I talk about everything except the song I'm supposed to talk about.

Song: Garfield and Friends Theme Song
Origin: Garfield and Friends

Nominator: Se7enthrust (8/10)

A unique choice. I praise the attempt to get some cartoon animals into this, but wonder how you wound up at this one; the obvious choice is anything Disney related: Besides the obvious Disney Afternoon themes, most of which actually have full versions, Gummi Bears is also an interesting optiton.

Moving beyond Disney, the original Ninja Turtles is...well, too obvious of a choice, and typically impossible to find on YouTube (though you can find links elsewhere without much effort), but still classic ; anything Care Bears or Chipmunks related would be terrific--I think I may have actually heard more Chipmunks & Chipettes albums than albums by every other artist combined and I'm not joking.

And if we really had to go with a fat orange cat, then Heathcliff is obviously superior musically. Not in terms of show quality, good lord is Heathcliff boring as heck, but it's almost worth watching for the intro alone.

But if we truly had to go with Garfield, then why not the more obscure "Friends Are There" intro?

The cheesy lyrics about friendship pair well with your other friendship song, the "Just Say No" joke at the end synergizes with the Trivial Pursuit theme, and it has a few slightly clever bits.

Friends are there
I don't care
But friends will care for youuu~

Is kinda funny. Also the way the singers struggle to hold the final u until the end of the song, practically screaming when Booker finally rushes off-screen so they can relax? Also mildly amusing.

...well it probably wouldn't have been enough to get the song any higher on the rankings, but it at least provides more talking points.

*coughs*

So, Garfield. I'm not really a fan of actual Garfield. "Garfield Minus Garfield" was funny for a while, Square Root of Minus Garfield can be funny at times (though it has made me regret never trying a pudding pop in my life), but official Garfield comics & cartoons? Ehhh....not so much.

[FINAL NOTES: Whoa, I never knew there was a third intro song used for the seventh season:

"Double rabble babble, he's a cat and I know that."

That is one of the worst cartoon theme songs I have ever heard. And I've seen the intro to Pickle and Peanut.]

[EVEN MORE FINAL NOTES: Well now you've done it. Now that I've heard three Garfield songs, YouTube is convinced that I must hear them all and my suggested videos are hell. It just gave me "The Garfield Rap":

That may be my new pick for worst song in existence. And I've heard "Whip My Hair" from the third live-action Chipmunks film*. And even though it's my fault for clicking so many Garfield related videos, I blame you.

*...actually I'm not sure I can ever truly hate any song about wagging your tail, but I'm under the impression that the song is quite exquisitely painful to normals.]
