Of course, modern instruments aren't a guarantee of a high score either. I'd say this is world's beyond "Allegro Con Fuoco", but it doesn't click for me either. It feels like it's trying too hard to be "X-TREME BADASSERY TO DA MAX, YO!!!!" and almost feels like a parody to me. And while it's certainly not bad, I don't think the song needs to be even half as long as it is. After the song starts to fade out and cuts to an ominous heartbeat, it should have stopped... instead that only marks the halfway point of the song and it decides to kick back in at full force, at which point I just want to close the video and do something else.

I like the concept, I like the distorted almost banshee-like wailing at points, I like the ominous heartbeat, but... it just doesn't know when to end. And don't take that as me not enjoying long songs, there are some I love, but this track doesn't really do anything with the added length.



Of course, after typing out everything I liked about it, the song jumped up another ten spots in the ranking.

[FINAL NOTES: Originally, I had this song only one place higher than that classical song, which is why the write-up so directly references it. The write-up did help me realize that there was a lot on this track that I did enjoy and it ultimately wound up moving up around 40 spots, but it's still too long for what it is and can't go any further than this.]

I feel like this is a song I should like. It's different, I kinda like the whiplash effect of the different fast & slow parts, she has a nice enough singing voice... but I dunno, I just can't bring myself to rank it any higher than this.

[FINAL NOTES: I stand by that. I like it, but it doesn't inspire a strong reaction in me.]
