The main character was having a feud with someone, so whoever it was was torturing the main character by staying outside their house and playing Panama on an endless loop. "That was Panama by Van Halen! Before that it was Panama, by Van Halen! Next, *starts describing another song as the main character gets his hopes up*...it's Panama by Van Halen!" I don't know why that scene has stuck with me for decades, but I can't hear the song without thinking of someone using it as a torture device. --- "That's life.
