(insert needlessly dense writeup from me here, something about quartals and liking crunchy maj 2nd harmonies and also mallet percussion instruments like xylophone are my favorite instruments that are not a synth especially if they are doing angular quartal runs like that and then cue me saying that all over and over in 50 different ways)

I'm always interested in your writeups, though I have no knowledge of musical terms so I rarely understand much. Like I don't think I've heard angular used to describe music before and I don't think I've ever heard the word quartal, in any context.

...not that I'm asking for a lesson, it's just always incredibly fascinating to run into a topic I can't even begin to grasp the language of.

"Due to a publisher block, we are not authorized to display these lyrics."

It's cute that UMC thinks they can keep the lyrics off the internet, considering how many other sites you can find these lyrics at. And it's not like this is the first time I've run into similar messages, as different sites are blocked from different songs. It's just such completely irrelevant garbage; exactly what the heck does UMC hope to accomplish? I had to look at two websites to make sure I correctly understood the lyrics, that sure helped them make money! </sarcasm>

...that's not even an inconvenience. I always try to check two websites anyway, due to the problem of frequently misquoted lyrics and to see if anyone's providing information I should know in the comments sections. It accomplished nothing other than mild annoyance.

This isn't just greedy, but incompetent. Captain Planet villains would laugh at this. Verminous Skumm's plan to spread misinformation about HIV & AIDS to ruin a basketball playing Neil Patrick Harris' life may have been pointlessly evil, but you can kinda spin it into making sense... like if NPH life got so miserable that he ran away from home, perhaps he would have to live in the sewer with the mutant rats or something. Or maybe Skumm's trying to prove that he should be in charge of the Hate ring to summon Captain Pollution, by doing his best to embody the concept of Hate itself unlike that smug Dr. Blight. Or maybe the rat just really, really hates Neil Patrick Harris.

Either way, even Skumm would take one look at Universal Music Group North America's plan to censor one page of one website and laugh in their faces.

...

Yes, I did just connect a song about dysfunctional relationships to the Captain Planet AIDS episode. Just one of the many exciting things that may happen when you ask a deranged rabbit to comment on your song choices!

[FINAL NOTES: If it matters, that whole UMC tirade had no impact on the song's placement.]

[FINAL-ER NOTES: I planned on saying that I regretted having this song so low, but looking at what's coming up, I... don't know that I'd take this over any of the songs dropping tomorrow, so this may actually be exactly where I want it to be.]
