Averages are irrelevant in this circumstance. If a strong woman and a weedy man were around, you're saying you would expect the man to do it despite being worse suited to the job.

It's not treating people differently if you measure them by the same stick.


Averages are indeed relevant. An average built guy and girl are going to have a very big difference in strength. Same goes for 2 scrawny people on different genders, 2 buff people of different genders, etc...
We're a sexually dimorphic species, with males having about 50% more upper body strength, and about 25% more lower body strength. So actually, an average built male might be better suited to lift something heavy than a pretty well built female.
