Not a topic I'm comfortable with, but it was really an inevitability. I was not prepared for the Armenian Genocide. This is another song that I feel is a set-up. Serious question: Am I even allowed to have a song like this in anything other than first place? [FINAL-ER NOTES: Rolling Stone's website apparently declared this to be the song of the summer, and I quote, "its got the kind of lyrics that make you just want to party". All of our lives we've put up a fight Survived genocide Survived genocide Of all the reactions I could have to this song, "want to party" is not one of them. I could be inspired by the message about people surviving in the face of overwhelming adversity and that even after genocide, some will survive and still find reasons to celebrate ; I could use it as an excuse to learn more about history, especially as it regards this topic ; I could dwell on the problems of the world, or really anything except shout "WOO!
