I wouldn't have expected to love a metal song about an execution, but here we are. Tried another random song off the album and didn't like it as much (though it wasn't bad)... don't know if I'd ever want to try a third song by them, but I do like this one.

[FINAL NOTES: Like Father John Misty, I'm leaving my experience with the band on a high note instead of seeking anything else out. For now, anyway.]

I feel like I'd perk up and get excited if another song by them was nominated (especially a song from a different album), but I don't know that I'm motivated enough to seek any out on my own.]

Another song that's presumably way too deep and symbolic for me to get in a casual listening topic. It seems incredibly straightforward about a deteriorating friendship, but then everyone starts talking about Roman statesmen, and the Julius Caesar play, & the recurring themes of the album itself and arguments on if there's even more than one person in the song itself since...something something someone in the band is taking on a new persona and obviously they're just arguing with themselves.

On the plus side, I don't care if I get it ; I love the instruments and the static-y buzz-y sorta noise at the start of the track and, while the main singer isn't what I expected, the voice is starting to grow on me.

[FINAL NOTES: ...Yeah, sure, let's add that to ZA'LIST, maybe I'll get around to listening to it someday.
